This weekend, we celebrated fall by making a pumkin fountain! We were pretty ambitious, but we finally did it- and it is so cool! Our good friend, Marcia, (pictured above) helped us out. It definitely took three people to make it happen!We started with three pumkins of various sizes, and 1 gigantic banana gourd. Once the fountain shape had been acheived, we ran a small fountain pump from the bottom pumkin up to the top, and let 'er rip.
Water flows gently up from the middle of the top pumkin, and cascades down to the bowl at the bottom.
To make sure the water flowed where we wanted it, we made small ridges in the sides of the top two pumkins. Admittedly, there were a few balancing issues, but we were able to solve them by sticking barbecue skewers in at strategic points.
We just think this is the coolest project we've ever embarked on- and boy, is it awesome!
