Tip from Toni: Beauty Is...

When I was in my thirties, I was lucky to meet and become friends with a very beautiful woman. She was well traveled, well read, and very interesting to be around. She attracted people like a magnet because she was such fun to be with. She had flaming red hair, beautiful skin and a great figure. Her stories of her life were vivid, funny and exciting. She lived in Texas and carried a parasol to keep the sun from her face. Carrying a parasol to match her outfits did not seem odd at all but rather a reflection and an extension of who and what she was. She was in her late seventies and I wanted to be like her.

I have reflected over the years why I was so taken with this woman. And I continue to emulate her to this day. She was not young and beautiful like the models in magazines of the time. She had wrinkles and arthritic bony hands. She dressed elegantly but quirky. But she was the complete package. She was herself, comfortable in her own skin. I adored her.

Beauty is what we love about our husbands, our children, our best friends. It does not matter if they are short, tall, thin or fat, have curly or straight hair. It does not matter if they are rich or not. What matters is that we have peeled away the layers to find the things we really like about the person.

Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Bring out your true beauty!

Go Ahead... Fake It!

WOW have we received the comments, looks, laughs, and questions since starting DoYouFakeIt.com. My girlfriends think it is hilarious and of course the men think of sex. Since our secret is out, my friends are asking me which of my bobbles are real and which are fake. The fact the question is asked should be a testament to good taste and good product.

I have for years worn costume jewelry along with the real bling. The reason I have done this, is because I think many times the costume jewelry is more beautiful and makes more of a statement. Plus I can have lots of it and not spend a fortune. I can change it according to my mood, my look or whim without feeling guilty. For a woman who owns several hundred pairs of shoes, you can imagine the drawers full of jewelry I own. Or maybe you can’t….my daughter is still amazed.

We are now starting to get repeat customers to our Ashley’s Big Secret .com website. and receiving many complimentary emails from our customers. However, if you are new to our website and are hesitant to order, or if have questions regarding any of the items, I encourage you to email us at writeus@ashleysbigsecret.com . If you want advice on what or how to wear something, again, I encourage you to email us. We would enjoy hearing from you.

YOU can dress like the DIVA you know you are and fake it too!

Bangles, Bangles, and more Bangles or here doggie, doggie

If I am known for one thing it is my gold bangle bracelets. I never take them off and wear 5 of them at all times. I always get compliments on them and they are an easy accessory that dresses up the most drab and comfortable outfit (even pajamas).

My nephew once commented that he always knew where I was in the house because he could hear my bracelets jangling like a dog with its tags attached to its collar! I suppose that was an indirect compliment!!!???

Gold or silver bangle bracelets are a classic accessory. You can wear one or ten and you can wear them with other bracelets.

I'm going to be a Grandma again!!!!!

Sweet dreams …..Stephanie

Our oldest son and daughter-in law gave us the news we are going to be grand-parents. They have decided not to find out the sex of the baby, but that does keep the rest of the family from predicting what the sex will be.

General folklore has been, if a pregnant women is carrying low, it’s a boy. If she is carrying hi, it’s a girl. If she is carrying all the weight out front in the shape of a basketball, then it’s probably a boy.

A 1999 study at Johns Hopkins recruited 104 pregnant women who did not know the sex of their babies. They found that the shape of the abdomen was a poor predictor of a baby’s sex. However, predictions based on dreams and feelings were more accurate than those based on the way a woman carried.

Success and Beauty

“Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success” Christopher Lasch’s quote.
I have often thought the most elegant look was a long mink coat worn over jeans.
The coat dresses up a rather ordinary and everyday outfit, but certainly makes the woman wearing it stand out from others.

You do not need a fur coat to look or feel beautiful. However, you can dress up an ordinary outfit with beautiful accessories. It takes seconds to add, costs much less and can make all the difference on how you feel and how you look to others. Also, by adding different accessories to the same outfit will appear to others as a new ensemble!
